A current project, Contra Costa Generating Station (CCGS) is an 86 acre property located in Antioch, California (less than one hour drive to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Stockton).
This heavy industrial zoned site contains over 2000 linear feet of deep water shoreline on the San Joaquin River (leading into the San Francisco Bay), associated water rights, active rail spur to the BNSF main line, high pressure natural gas, and heavy power from an on-site switchyard.

4601 Newgate Ave, Baltimore, MD
The Canton Marine Terminal is a 10 acre waterfront property is directly adjacent to the Port of Baltimore Seagirt Terminal. The property featured 2,100 linear feet of deep water berth space, 180 grain silos and a 230 foot tall grain elevator system. The silos and grain elevator system were remediated and demolished, paving the way for a large material importer. The 24 month project realized greater than 400% return.
2199 Gould St, Baltimore, MD
The 100 MW Gould St Generating Station was acquired from Exelon in December of 2019. Located next to Baltimore's premiere 235 acre, master-planned mixed use development project, the 100+ year old peaking plant located on 6 acres was remediated and demolished to make way for critical power infrastructure for the neighboring site. The 18 month project realized over 200% return.
901 S Kresson Street, Baltimore, MD
The 10 acre, former scrap processing yard was purchased in August of 2021. The largest remaining parcel in Baltimore's revitalization area, decades of environmental contamination meant the site would be overlooked by conventional developers as its surrounding neighborhood began to flourish. With environmental remediation and demolition underway in April of 2022, the site will be redeveloped into multifamily housing.
3801 Fort Armistead Road, Baltimore, MD
Hawkins Point was clay capped industrial landfill recognized as a part of the most contaminated sites in Maryland. Recognizing the still active permit and remaining airspace, this property was acquired via liability transfer in November of 2019. Following the permit renewal under new ownership, Hawkins Point Landfill was re-opened in 2020 as the only privately owned asbestos landfill in the State of Maryland.
2519 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD
This former Westinghouse facility located on 5 acres in Baltimore's west side was purchased in 1998. After demolishing over 50% of the property and preforming environmental remediation, the property was utilized as a contractor's office, mechanics shop, and storage yard for over 20 years. The property was then sold to one of the nations top scrap metal processors in August of 2021 for more than 10 times its original purchase price.
8339 Telegraph Road, Odenton, MD
The 55 acre site in central Maryland included 1 million square feet manufacturing facilities. Having entered the Maryland Voluntary Cleanup Program, the site underwent environmental remediation and full demolition and would receive a No Further Action from Maryland Department of Environment in 2007.
Rebranded as Academy Yards, Phase I of the project consisted of 369 apartment units which sold in fall of 2021. Phase II is currently in development and with delivery expected in late 2023.
Kings Mill Road, York, PA
The former 400,000 square foot corrugated container plant was purchased in 2002. After the discovery of hidden environmental contamination, BERG Brownfields was able to exercise a pollution liability policy to shield the both previous and new owner from previously unquantified liability. Following the remediation of contaminated soils and demolition the property was sold in 2008 to York College.
