Contra Costa Generating Station (CCGS) is an 86-acre decommissioned generation station. The heavy industrial zoned site boasts world class infrastructure including 2000 linear feet of deep-water shoreline on the San Joaquin River, to the San Francisco Bay, Port of Stockton, and Port of Sacramento, all of which are less than 1-hours drive, active BNSF rail spur less than ¼ mile from main line, heavy power with on-site switchyard, high pressure natural gas.
BERG Brownfields has successfully repositioned and leased half the site for shipping container storage and repair and is actively redeveloping the remaining areas for a critical infrastructure project.
4601 Newgate Ave, Baltimore, MD
The Canton Marine Terminal is a 10-acre waterfront property is adjacent to the Port of Baltimore, featuring 2,100 linear feet of deep water berth space. Dormant for nearly 40 years and encumbered by 180-concrete grain silos covered in asbestos and a 230-foot-tall grain elevator system, BERG Brownfields, in partnership with BERG Demo, remediated, demolished, and repositioned the site as a material import facility in 24 months.
2199 Gould St, Baltimore, MD
Gould Street Generating Station was acquired from Exelon in December of 2019. Located next to the “Baltimore Peninsula”, a 235-acre master-planned, mixed-use development project, the 6-acre, 100-year old plant with on site switchyard was remediated and demolished to make way for the expansion of power infrastructure for the neighboring development.
901 S Kresson Street, Baltimore, MD
The 10 acre, former scrap processing yard was purchased in August of 2021. The largest remaining parcel in Baltimore's revitalization area, decades of environmental contamination meant the site would be overlooked by conventional developers as its surrounding neighborhood began to flourish. With environmental remediation and demolition underway in April of 2022, the site will be redeveloped into multifamily housing.
3801 Fort Armistead Road, Baltimore, MD
Hawkins Point is a clay capped industrial landfill recognized as a part of the most contaminated sites in Maryland. Identifying the location and intrinsic value of active waste permits, this property was acquired via liability transfer in November of 2019. Following the permit renewal under new ownership, Operated by Hawkins Management, Hawkins Point Landfill was re-opened in 2020 as the State of Maryland’s the only privately owned asbestos landfill.
2519 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD
This former Westinghouse facility located on 5 acres in Baltimore's west side was purchased in 1998. After demolishing over 50% of the property and preforming environmental remediation, the property was utilized as a contractor's office, mechanics shop, and storage yard for over 20 years. The property was then sold to one of the nations top scrap metal processors in August of 2021.
8339 Telegraph Road, Odenton, MD
The 55 acre site in central Maryland included 1 million square feet manufacturing facilities. Having entered the Maryland Voluntary Cleanup Program, the site underwent environmental remediation and full demolition and would receive a No Further Action from Maryland Department of Environment in 2007.
Rebranded as Academy Yards, the project was completed and sold in 2023.
Kings Mill Road, York, PA
The former 400,000 square foot corrugated container plant was purchased in 2002. After the discovery of hidden environmental contamination, BERG Brownfields was able to exercise a pollution liability policy to shield the both previous and new owner from previously unquantified liability. Following the remediation of contaminated soils and demolition the property was sold in 2008 to York College.
